Description
I've been kind of looking forward to this page and dreading it at the same time. There are a couple of things here that were kind of challenging for me because I hadn't done them before, and I'm hoping they came out well. Namely, the close-up of the spaceship in panel 2, and the carry-over of dialog between panels 1 and 2.
Those are supposed to be scorch marks on the nose and the leading edge of the wing in panel 2. They didn't come out quite as I had intended, partially because when you accidentally overdraw something that dark, it's very difficult to erase it without ruining the paper.
Panel 3 was rough. I'm still not used to drawing the characters at that kind of scale, so it feels awkward and I always wonder if I'm getting the proportions right. The more I look at it, the more I know I messed up on Andy (he's always the hardest to draw small for some reason . . .). Conversely, I think Andy came out really well in panels 1 and 4, but I had some difficulty getting Mike to look right. (And his face is still too short in both panels, but it's not something I can fix without re-drawing from scratch. *sigh*)
I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not, but the punchlines on this page and the one before still make me laugh every time I look at them. Maybe I'm too enamored of my own sense of humor.
